Markwell's milestones

Markwell Foods started in the 1950s in Tweed Heads as a family owned fishery and value-added seafood company.

In 1993, Markwell Pacific was acquired by the Competitive Foods Group of companies (CFAL), which is best known for its Burger King and KFC (only WA & NT) brands.

Since then, Markwell Pacific Marketing Pty Ltd, trading as Markwell Foods, has specialised in value-added and non value-added frozen seafood as well as frozen value-added meat products and has been based in Carole Park, QLD.

In early 2007, Markwell Foods relocated its Head Office to St Leonards, Sydney NSW. Later that year, Markwell acquired the Galpak brand, which is reknown for its premium quality Barramundi.

In 2008, Markwell obtained the brand rights for the European frozen food brand Findus for distribution in Australia and New Zealand.
